Green is the story of the end of the Circle, which happens to be the beginning. We see the division of the futuristic world, and somewhat see our world as it might be in the not too distant future. Samuel peaces out and Thomas is torn between conflicting interests in very conflicting realities. That’s about the gist of it.
I loved this book. It made an awesome end to an incredible series. I greatly appreciate the Biblical and historical ties that this entire series has had. I was greatly challenged to reevaluate my Christian faith and world view in light of the Circle. It was also a very consuming book, in the sense that I had a hard time putting it down at times.
I have to say that I am extremely disappointed in two regards. First off, I expected more of an ending. I know it was supposed to be the “beginning and the end” but come on! What about Johnny and that world!? I expected to read more about that reality but found myself still wondering the same things when I closed the back cover. Secondly, I strongly disagree with claims to start with this book. Sorry, but if you haven’t read Black, then Red, then White – in that order – then you have no business reading Green. It would be a terrible and discouraging start in my opinion. If you have read the series thus far, then what are you waiting for?
